Prof. Dr. Samapika Das Biswas

Dr. Samapika Das Biswas is a passionate and highly experienced educator and psychologist with over fifteen years of dedicated service in the fields of counselling and teaching. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to providing the best care and guidance to both patients and students. She has eighteen years of rich experience in psychological Counselling besides being
an expert educator.

Currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Head of the Basic Science and Humanities Department at the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) in Kolkata, she also takes on the role of Head of the English department and Psychologist/Counsellor.

This multi-faceted role involves her active involvement in curriculum development, faculty management, and academic coordination.

In addition to her academic responsibilities, she is deeply engaged in various community organizations, including her role as the Zonal Secretary of the District 3291 International Rotary Club, President of the International Rotary Club Salt Lake Silicon Valley, Kolkata, and Vice-President of the International Inner Wheel Club of IEM. She has also been instrumental in organizing international conferences and managing international journals, reflecting her commitment to the broader academic community.

As a psychologist, she has contributed significantly to the field through research, conference presentations, and publications. Her doctoral work focused on psychological characteristics and adjustment patterns in late adolescents and young adults with obesity.

Her diverse skill set encompasses leadership, effective communication, critical thinking, and the ability to work well under pressure. Her dedication to lifelong learning is evident in her completion of various online courses and active involvement in professional development.

Outside of her professional life, she enjoys hobbies such as reading, writing, sketching, photography, and participating in local community activities. Her enthusiasm for exploring different cultures, volunteering, and public speaking highlights her well-rounded and dynamic personality.
